India Tourism Department wins award for 'Best Domestic Destination' at ITM, 2008 :

India Tourism Department won the 'Best Domestic Destination Awareness' Award for the year 2008-09 at the Indian Travel Mart (ITM) function held in Jaipur, yesterday. The department was declared the best in the category among several national and international organisations who participated in the two-day exhibition. The Rajasthan Tourism Department won the 'Outstanding Achievement' Award.

Apart from this, Uttarakhand won an award in the 'Excellence in Adventure' and 'Eco-friendly Destination' category. Bihar, on the other hand, won the 'Best Tourism Potential Destination' Award. Himachal Pradesh got awarded as the most `Eco-friendly Tourism State,' while Tamil Nadu won the 'Best Destination Marketing Awareness' Award. Indian Railways was awarded for the 'Most Innovative and Unique Tourism Product Display.'
Among foreign countries, Malaysia won the 'Best Tourism Presentation and Decorative Pavilion' Award. Singapore got an award for the `Best Branding Experience' in outbound category, Thailand bagged an award for 'Best Outbound Destination Awareness Display' and Star Cruises was awarded for being the 'Most Innovative and Unique Tourism Product Display (outbound).'
